2/1/2007 - Wilson and Brannon Sixth on Track at Daytona for Blackforest Motorsports Group.

Daytona 200

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (January 31, 2007) -- Stan Wilson and Chris Brannon earned a sixth-place finish on the track in Friday's Fresh from Florida 200 at Daytona International Raceway for Blackforest Motorsports Group, staying at the front throughout the three-hour race in the No. 6 TRM Classics, NetEvidence, Inc. Blackforest Motorsports FR500C Mustang.

Brannon qualified nineteenth for the Grand-Am KONI Challenge season opener, and at the start of the race he stayed out of trouble, had some fantastic battles, and took the No. 6 to eighth place during his stint in the car. Chris ran consistently and worked traffic to his advantage while battling in the Grand Sport class of the Koni Challenge race.

Brannon brought the car into the pits and all of the practice on the driver change Wilson and Brannon had performed during the weekend paid off. They completed the driver change in 32 seconds and were waiting on the fuel instead of the team waiting on them.

Brannon turned the car over to Stan Wilson in 8th and Wilson rejoined the race in 12th. Wilson worked up to 9th before the next full course yellow. At the yellow, Wilson came into the pits for a top off of the fuel and tires. However, Wilson did not get any tires due to a timing issue and troubles for one of the other Blackforest cars already in pit lane. This was a set back for the Wilson Brannon car. They knew they could not come back in for tires and finish in the top 10, therefore, Chris and Stan made the call to stay out and just go for it on the same set of tires that Chris started the race on. Yes - they ran the entire race on one set of tires while all the other top running teams had fresh rubber underneath them for the end of the race.

Wilson got a great jump on the cars behind him at the restart and worked his way up to 3rd. Then with a diving entrance into turn 1, Wilson managed to put the No. 6 into second place overall for about one and one half turns.

"It was short lived, but it sure was fun!" Wilson commented.

On the next restart, David Empringham went to the inside entering turn 1 while Wilson went to the outside tucking in behind him exiting the corner. Wilson now had Bill Auberlen behind him in the bright yellow and blue BMW M3. Auberlen was faster than Wilson in the infield as Wilson was putting on a drifting exhibition on his 2 hour 50 minute old tires, but Wilson was able to hold Auberlen off for several laps with a great deal of fun and race craft.

A lapped car that did not get waived past the pace car on the previous two restarts ended up directly in front of the No. 5 Blackforest Mustang. Wilson was directly behind and the lapped car ran wide at turn three. The No. 5 took the inside and Wilson followed. The lapped car made slight contact with the 5 on the left rear and then drifted left. Wilson slowed and hugged the inside to make the pass and planned on exiting the corner with the lapped car between himself and Auberlen. However, the lapped car pulled back in towards the apex at the last minute clipping the left front of the No. 6 Blackforest Mustang. It instantly turned the lapped car around the front end of Wilson's car. Wilson had a windshield full of the side of the car with an Auberlen led freight train behind him with about 20 fast box cars. Coming to a stop was not an option; therefore, Wilson drove around the rear end of the spun car and continued in 5th place following Empringham in the No. 5 Blackforest Mustang.

Things got a busy behind Wilson as he left turn 3 causing another double yellow. The restart came and after battling with Auberlen and getting a love tap from him exiting out onto the Daytona banking, Wilson gave up 5th place for 6th.

Just after getting comfortable in 6th place and getting some distance on the 7th place car, the call came over the radio that Wilson needed to come in for a stop and go. The team and Grand-Am debated the call for the final laps of the race. Therefore, Stan Wilson and Chris Brannon finished in 6th on the track and were scored one lap down in the unofficial results due to failing to come to pit lane for a stop and go penalty under green flag conditions.

"The team gave us a great car, and the crew handled seven cars in the pits," said Brannon. "We would have liked to have gotten Stan out on new tires for the final run to the checkers, but all in all it was a fantastic finish and a huge statement to run the entire race on a single set of tires."

"I had a blast out there racing with names I have admired and looked up to for years. I'm really pleased with our finish," commented Wilson. "It was a good way for Chris and I to prove ourselves and make multiple statements on and off the track- Chris did a great job and we've got some momentum behind us now."

"Chris and I would like to thank Brian Nott, Donna Nott, Tom Nastasi, Aaron Kirlin, and the entire Blackforest Motorsports Group for a fantastic race weekend. It was a true blessing to work with such a fine organization," said Wilson.

The next Grand-Am Koni Challenge race will be at Homestead-Miami Speedway on April 15. Hopefully, Stan Wilson and Chris Brannon will be there in the No. 6 GS Blackforest Mustang.

12/22/2006 - Wilson and Brannon to Race Blackforest FR500C Mustang in the 2007 Koni Challenge GS Class Opener at Daytona.

Blackforest and Stan Wilson's Wilson Racing have joined forces to place Stan Wilson and Chris Brannon in a Blackforest Ford Mustang GT GS-class race car in the 2007 Grand American Koni Challenge Sports Car Series season opener at Daytona International Speedway. The FR500C Mustang will carry primary sponsorship from Blackforest. Additional sponsorship will be provided by TRM Classic and Collectible Automobiles, NetEvidence, Inc., Wilson Racing, Inc., and other associated sponsors to be named after the January testing event at Daytona. Wilson and Brannon will take to the track for the first time in the FR500C Mustang at Daytona International Speedway on January 4 as part of the pre-season Koni Challenge series testing.

"The GS class is a very competitive group of cars and drivers, Chris and I are very excited to be in our first Grand-American race together as teammates, and we want to thank Blackforest for placing us on the team for the 2007 season opener at Daytona," said Wilson.

Wilson Racing was formed in 1999 and Wilson has raced in many different racing vehicles throughout his motorsports career. The Mount Juliet, Tennessee-based team has competed in Dodge Vipers, Chevrolet Corvettes, Ford Mustangs, Porsches, Chevrolet Camaros, Dodge Neons, Acuras, Hondas, and Mazda race cars over the years. Stan competed in a select number of professional sprint races in a Dodge Viper Competition Coupe in 2004 as well as professional endurance races in 2005 and 2006 in various race cars. Most recently his team has been running in the Sports Car Club of America's National Series with a Chevrolet Cobalt SS Supercharged Touring Car where Stan won the 2006 Southeast Divisional Championship and won the June Sprints at Road America.

The 2006 racing season brought about the teaming of Wilson and Brannon as teammates. They campaigned touring cars together in separate classes as well as teaming up for a win in the 13 Hours of VIR endurance race presented by Kumho Tires. Chris Brannon has raced several race cars as well, including Chevrolet Corvettes, Pontiac Firebirds, and most recently his Pontiac GTO in the Sports Car Club of America's National Series. Chris earned the Midwest Divisional Championship in 2006 racing his Pontiac GTO.

"The Rolex Series is obviously a very competitive arena and we have some pretty big names out there with us. We're going to be competitive and have a lot of fun in this one off race for Blackforest. We'll definitely put up a good fight, but we will not forget about the competitors around us that have an entire season's point chase ahead of them," said Stan Wilson.

We're thrilled that Tom Nastasi asked us to be a part of the Grand-Am Koni Challenge race at Daytona. Blackforest is a class act and we're looking forward to representing them in the race. We have achieved a lot in a short time as teammates. Stan and I hope to be a regular name in professional sports car racing in the near future," said Chris Brannon.

Mountain Home, AR - TRM Classics Racing completed its driver line-up for 2006 by signing Stan Wilson to drive the #92 T3 2006 Chevy Cobalt SS Supercharged , who will join TRM’s owner Chris Brannon driving the #16 T2 2005 Pontiac GTO 6.0, with sponsorship from TRM Classic & Collectible Autos, Net Evidence, Inc., Kumho Tires, JEG’s High Performance, Carbotech Brakes, Wilson & Wilson CPA, and Wilson Racing, Inc. Team owner Chris Brannon said "Stan is a great addition to our team for 2006 and will be a great fit, with the potential to run right at the front all year. Stan has raced front wheel and rear wheel drive cars and has shown great speed, so we’re really looking forward to getting under-way and seeing what results this season holds for us."

Wilson brings longtime sponsor Kumho Tires into the TRM Classics stable for a full season having supported him for several years in SCCA competition, where he ran consistently at the front of the field and finished no lower than second in the season standings. Kumho Tires has sponsored Wilson for 6 years, including showroom stock cars, touring cars, and GT cars, in sprint and endurance races. He also competed in Speed’s World Challenge series.

I’d like to express my gratitude to Chris Brannon and TRM Classics, NetEvidence, Inc., JEG’s and Kumho Tires for giving me this opportunity and allowing me to represent them in this exciting new SCCA class."

About TRM Classic & Collectible Autos
The goal of "TRM" is to provide the general public, as well as "intense" collectors, with the highest quality muscle cars available today. "I love nothing more than for a previous client to call me and say that the car they had purchased from me one to two years ago has sold and made them a healthy profit". Now they would like to purchase another one. I love finding and selling super rare cars that are #'s matching with paperwork, however just because a car is not #'s matching or does not have paperwork, doesn't mean that the car is not still investment grade. That is where most buyers get confused. Quality should always come first!!!! I suggest buying the highest quality that "you" the buyer can afford. The high quality muscle cars (number matching or not) have religiously gone up 10-15% a year for the last 10 years. With the baby boomers (age 35 to 55) as 90% of my customers, I can't imagine a slow down for at least another 10 to 15 years. When the stock market takes a dive, sales go up. When the economy slows, sales go up. I think that people are tired of paying someone to lose money for them in the stock market when they can purchase a car themselves, enjoy it for a few years and sell it for a profit! I don't have a dime it the stock market and therefore I have not lost a dime in the stock market. If the end of time comes it won't matter where your money is. Put it somewhere it can be enjoyed until that time! www.trmclassics.com
